Våffelmaskinen hemma från Dreamhack
Förra helgen så gick ju DreamHack Winter 2008 av stapeln och såklart var robotföreningen och våffelmaskinen där. Här är en bild på montern:
Men det som de flesta nog har väntat på. Här är en film på våffelmaskinen in action:
Maskinen kördes vid ett antal tillfällen i 1-2 timmars pass under fredag och lördag och vi har beräknat att maskinen bjöd DH-beökare på över 500 gratisvåfflor under helgen vilket verkar ha uppskattats av de flesta.
Nu var det tyvärr så att det inte funkade helt klockrent som det kanske verkar. Till att börja med så hade vi inte löst ett litet inställningsproblem på kommunikationsbussen mellan de olika modulerna så att hela maskinen låste sig ibland. Under justeringen så lyckades vi ha sönder något på styrkortet vilken resulterade i att kommunikationen mellan modulerna försvann. Lösningen blev att koppla in en knapp på varje modul och tankkortet, för att sedan styra maskinen manuellt genom att en person fick trycka på knapparna i en viss ordning.
När vi åkte till Dreamhack så var faktiskt inte hela maskinen färdig utan all 230V-dragning till våffeljärnen gjordes på plats. Allt gick bra, ända tills vi skulle testa alla modulerna tillsammans… Då slocknade plötsligt montern. Det visade sig att jordfelsbrytarn hade gått och att den gjorde det när våffeljärn 1 var igång och någon av motorerna på den modulen körde. Det slutade med att vi fick koppla bort den modulen och bara köra på det två andra. Resultatet blev att vi endast kunde leverera en våffla var 90:e sekund, dvs. 40 våfflor i timmen. Vi har fortfarande inte löst det här problemet, men det ska nog inte vara några problem när vi väl sätter oss in i det och försöker på riktigt.
Nu är det dessvärre så att vi alla tre i “våffelgruppen” måste satsa lite på att plugga inför tentor och liknande så det kommer tyvärr stå ganska still här fram till nästa läsperiod, dvs till slutet av Januari. Vi är dock överens om att maskinen någon dag ska kunna leverera en våffla var 40:e sekund så kika in här ibland för att hålla koll på när det är möjligt att komma ner till lokalen och smaka utsökta maskingjorda våfflor.
